Franchising Brasil announces approved brands in the 6th edition of the International Franchise Certificate

Franchising Brasil — an internationalization program of the Brazilian Franchising Association (ABF) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) — has just announced the 68 brands included in the 6th edition of the International Franchise Certificate. The initiative recognizes networks with different levels of international operations, according to the brands’ degree of maturity and global presence. 

The registered franchises, all participants of Franchising Brasil, receive seals in the Pleno, Senior, Master and Mega categories. In this edition, 24 chains received the Pleno seal; 24 the Senior; 5 the Master and 15 the Mega. Check out the complete list at the end of the article.

“The International Franchise Certificate is a recognition of the effort and excellence of Brazilian networks in their internationalization journey”, says Bruno Amado, executive manager of Franchising Brasil and manager of International Projects at ABF.

Highlights of the internationalization rankings

The announcement of the networks was accompanied by rankings of the brands with the greatest international presence among those registered. “With these rankings, we were able to further highlight the networks of the Franchising Brasil Program that participated and lead the sector in number of operations and global presence, reinforcing the competitiveness and relevance of Brazilian franchising in the international market,” he said.

In terms of number of operations abroad, Smart Fit leads with 845 units, followed by Oakberry Açaí Bowls (421) and Kumon (310). Other brands that stood out in this aspect include iGUi (285), O Boticário (164), Acium (155), Havaianas (95), Localiza (92), Espaçolaser (66) and Chilli Beans (61).

In the ranking of number of countries with operations abroad, the leader was iGUi, present in 50 countries, followed by Oakberry Açaí Bowls (40) and Maple Bear (30). Other notable brands include Chilli Beans (16), Acium (15), Smart Fit (14), Carmen Steffens (14), Usaflex Franquias (12), O Boticário (11) and CleanNew (10).
